Not too long ago, I asked you all, would you confront gossiping co-workers? Well, I guess I don't need to worry about that anymore, because I just got fired and now I don't have to deal with them anymore. I'm relieved but scared at the same time. Unfortunately, I don't have much money saved for a rainy day and I really wish I had listened to my parents more, when I was still living at home. Fortunately I paid my landlord $300.00 in advance for October's rent and I gave my brother $280.00 to flip for me. He said, he could have $400.00 for me, by the 1st. I'll have $105.00 to my name at that point. I was supposed to be moving into a new apartment by the first week of November because me lease is up. Can't get unemployment. My brother advises me to stay in the house to save money, that's cool, for now. I haven't told my parents and I don't think I should have to, I'm grown and besides what could they say except "find a new job FAST" and ***** at me? If you were me, what would you do?

There is a story out there about a man who needed to raise 2 million in a week just to get his wife back.

I forget the title, but it was a good read.

If you have a car, check out the temp services in your area.
They usually give jobs more easily to those that have one.

Give plasma, be a test subject, etc, etc.

Join the service.

If you have some money and the guts, pack your bags and move to another area.

Do your homework first. Prepare to rough it out in the open for a few days. If you are in the States and not an addict to vice, Las Vegas is a good place to find a job fast until you find something better.

Look around, I know certain jobs (like working on ships and riverboats, pay is good and everything is paid for on a ship) and certain groups (like buddiest temple I have visted) have ways for you to earn your keep.

I don't know what else to say, but good luck to you.

If you were me, what would you do ?

Find a new job FAST
Meantime -- $600 in 30 days breaks down to $20 a day for that time -- Set your goals on THIS -- while you are tapping into the job markets !! You might consider selling off a couple of things that are beyond your needs at the present time --- even check into a temp agency -- they usually pay after each days work that you do !!
And, as far as the parent thing --- booger --- that is the parental JOB --- to press you hard --- but, still, I grant you --- they would help somewhat if you were in Real trouble -- So, there is always THAT option IF all else fails !!

Ask your brother for the money back, not sure what flipping money is.
Raise money in different ways, sell things on Craig's list or eBay or a yard sale. Clean some houses, mow some lawns, deliver some pizza and flip some burgers.
Apply for unemployment unless you were fired for something like stealing you might get it but not the first week or two.
Look for a real job, temp work or whatever you can get.

Get busy looking for a new job, and in the meantime try a temp agency. They can find you something temporary to hold you over. Some of the jobs are even temp-to-hire.
