If you grew up during that time or if you did what would you have wanted to be? A hippie or a flag waving patriot? I was to young during that time but passed what we called the Hippie house in the small town I grew up in. And they seemed to be having a blast all the time.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and lived in a commune at one point. While I was supportive of the troops that left for Viet Nam, I hated the war and protested every chance I got. I also finished college, graduate school and worked hard to earn a good dollar. We weren't "either or" folks....we just had different ideas of what was right and wrong and had no problem saying so. We believed in love....and that seemed to be in conflict with what blanket patriotism represented.....still believe in love, and still support the men and women putting their lives on the line in Iraq, and still hate the war!
