I'd definitely say 90% of them were whackjobs! I've even known poor kids who want nothing to do with the military! The only people I've known who wanted to join the military were psychopaths that just want to kill people. I've known one or two that joined for the adventure and true patriotism, and the rest were graduating from video game violence to the real world, or just wanted to hurt people. I am convinced the military is full of immature, dumb kids and borderline mass murderers. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would volunteer, really.

I refuse to comment on the character of a majority of them, because I do have a few good friends that enlisted and hated it(along with myself), and are good people who weren't the woman beating, homophobic, looking for a chance to kill someone legally, get a waiver on the ASVAB score types that characterize the people, that i met at boot camp.
all i gotta say, is there is a benefit to society for that barbed and razor wire mounted on the inside of the fences of military facilities. Sad but true.
But anyone who is stable in mind who joins to protect freedom, i have the utmost respect for.
I would have to assume that if a person likes being told how to fold their underwear, and how to live, something is wrong with them. I sure didn't, but i did my duty.....more than i an say for most war supporters.

I have family and friends in the military, some of whom have been wounded in combat, and they are some of the nicest (if a bit more strict then the average person) people I have ever met. You are extremely misinformed and I'm beyond embarrassed for you that you even posted this.
I know roughly 30 guys who graduated with me who are in the army-- all of which were extremely smart. Two of my teachers just got back from iraq-- they have doctorate degrees, and no, they're not 'whackjobs'
move somewhere else if you cant appreciate our military.
