Why all this bigotry against a candidate who seems to be a nice enough guy? Surely he's a more morally upright person than Rudy Guiliani with his serial marriages and scary megalomania, or Fred Thompson who seems to be convinced that he's a reincarnation of Reagen?

I laugh at anyone who calls any other religion wacky while they subscribe to some other religion. There are completely unbelievable and preposterous things in all religions. They are all wacky if you ask me. So one belief doesn't bother me more then the other.

Why not hold it against him? I put Mormonism in the same bracket as Scientology. In other words, a goofball religion. Worse still, a racket. Not that I´m a fan of any religion but this bunch takes the cake. Don´t they walk around in ``special´´ underwear to protect them from evil?

I remember talking to a lady in Portugal who would rent a room to missionary Mormon boys. They were nice. They kept the place clean. But every once in a while she´d hear them making raunchy lovemaking sounds. They´d go back to Utah and then another pair would come. Guess what? Yep. More sex sounds.

I find that anyone who has to brag about morality is anything but. So yes, I find it A OK that his religion is held against him as all other candidates should be likewise scrutinized. "moral", "God fearing" people do not enter into a profession that is characterized by unscrupulous acts, unethical deeds, and misleading an entire nation.

I think if they learned more about Mitt and Mormons they wouldnt hold religion against him. However, I wouldnt worry. He is leading key early states. And both Mitt and Mormonism can withstand the scrutiny.

I think Thompson is all right and I got no beef with Mitt Romney, but most folks I know who don't like him are against him being president because they think he is hard-core right wing with some crazy ideas that don't fly over well with them, not because of his faith. I'd still take any of their lot over that cult leader Ron Paul tho. +D

I think religion should be used against ANY candidate who uses it in a campaign. Religion is private.

It is. People are still under some impression that he has a bunch of teen age wives and 20 children. I don't see no more indicaion he would use religion in his Presidency as Kennedy did.

Of course but they have to have something to complain about and that's the only thing they can think of. It's a shame. If they didn't have religion they would probably make something up.
