love to see the kiddies in their costumes. I make up individual bags of treats to pass out to the trick or treaters. What kind of goodies do kids like the best to rec.in their bags and what do they not like. Halloween treats r filling the aisles and I never know what to buy. Mothers please respond.

Just from my experience handing out candy, Pixie sticks and Tootsie Roll pops are usually popular. Chocolate is always good too. What normally gets pitched at our house is Dum Dum suckers and Sweet Tarts (both good but there are always way too many of them). Really cheap or old candy is never good and those peanut butter things wrapped in black or orange waxed paper are really nasty. When I was a child, the thing I really hated getting was pennies.
Hope that helps...I love handing candy out to the kids too!

Not a mother, but I suggest getting stuff you like cause you're probably gonna eat any candy you have left over. We usually go for mixes with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Reeses Pieces, Snickers, Butterfingers, M&Ms, Kit-Kat, stuff like that. Basically stuff that's already a major hit with when it's not Halloween.

Though the best Halloween treat we ever gave out was full size bags of Twizzlers. Not something I'd advise regularly purchasing for a Halloween treat, but that year my dad had bought bulk Twizzlers to seel a a flee-market towards the end of the flee-market season. We still had plenty left over (and yes they were still good come Halloween) so instead of purchasing candy we just handed out the Twizzlers. Word got around about us and we ended up having kids coming to the house saying "Is this the house giving out the Twizzlers?"

I'm not a mom, but I can still remember as a kid what I liked and didn't like. I liked jawbreakers because I wouldn't get many of those and I loved taking the candy out every few minutes to see the color change. Try to give those only to the older kids though. Jolly Ranchers were very popular when I was a kid (I'm 19 now). I didn't like getting those cheap flexible toy rings because there wasn't much I could do with those.

I like to get my trick or treat candy from Oriental Trading Co. They also have little toys to add to the bags, I do toys but only for the littlest trick or treaters.
This year I think I'm going to dress like Dracula and hand out these bags of candy blood.

Probably the spider egg sacks too, I also love the gummy barf (so hard to decide).
I am also putting Halloween rubber duckies in the little kids bags.
Then I alway get smarties too because that is what my kids like.

I'm a "DAD", and I like to give out traditional candy, I keep a special box for the little kids that are out late, or alone, or by themselves at night with "Dad" with his tie half off because, he just got home late from work, and still took out his "Little one" trick or treating. They get a "BIG" candy bar, and a $1 "Light Stick", so cars can see them at night crossing the street. My little guy go's with me, I have lights all over him at night, he LOVES it !

Dude, I don't know what they're called, but at the Dollar Tree they have these DELICIOUS chocolate things that are in diff. colors (mostly neutrals and autumn colors--no blue, I think) and that look like M&Ms, but in a vertical, clear plastic wrapper. They are tiny and round, and *extremely* good, and only a buck!

Yummy!!!!

Who says you have to be a kid to like Halloween? It's a religious holiday for some of us.
