I think we will adapt or evolve. Eventually, what we are today will be different. We know that the appendix, for example, is becoming obsolete in our species, while still essential in other animals. We know that nature continues to try and bring forth genetic variations, however, they often die.
A mouse species in Chicago was discovered to have evolved in as few as 70 years. That is the traits became different enough that the two populations of mice could no longer produce offspring together.
We may become Human I and Human II.
Many of the infertile couples may be part of the process of different gene pools loosing the ability to procreate with one another.
The transition may come sooner than we think. If I think back to my days in anthropology. There were overlapping periods where different types of early hominids existed on the planet.
If we chart the average time for species transition, we can see that it will be upon sooner than we think.

Four reasonable possibilites:
1) Until the human species uses up or destroys any of the Earth's resources which are necessary for human survival.
2) A catastrophic event occurs, like they have many times in the past, which sets off a climate change, making life on Earth uninhabitable for the human species.
3) A nuclear war results in so much radiation as to destroy the air we breathe.
4) An evolved species of bacteria or virus develops into a human killing machine and can't be stopped.
Which is most likely to happen first? It's kind of a tie between 3 and 4. But if 3 or 4 never happen, and that's a possibility, 1 and or 2 will almost certainly eventually happen.
Excellent question to think about. Hope your not some 14 year old kid, or some religious nut, just spoofing us, because if you are, I've just wasted my time.

A good question and it begs the question..
How long have we existed?
To look into the future is to look at what may be..and in this we cannot see beyond the moment..for we are open to events of cataclysmic nature ..
If we make a few assumptions..and human nature tends to bend towards this..that for example we will be safe from natural or man made catastrophe..then our future appears limited by resource.
We need air to breathe .. water to drink and food to eat..we need warmth and light the same.
Our planet hosts abundance of all we do need..and our existance and potential towards eventual mutation and evolvement suggests we will live for all time...
Billions of years may find our planet die..however we as species will probably be able to colonise other planets..the human adopting and adapting towards survival.
I see no end to human existance but I do see change.

most things people say are evolution are actually adaptation, such as those mice...evolution and adaptation are not the same thing either...
I think that humans could survive until the sun blows up. Humans can adapt to just about any situation, examples of this would be the Ice Age, the Black Plague, the Holocaust etc...so I think so long as the sun is burning humans could find a way to survive.

Until Burger King and Mcdonalds cease to exist. Man could not survive long without them. May God have mercy on our souls.
