oh, and can anyone explain what those symbols mean on the bottom of the products. like say, the one on my shampoo bottle.

The symbols are different types of plastics. Some recycle sites only take 1 and 2.

You can recycle is newspapers, plastic bottle, old magazines, computer papers, glass especially coke bottles, aluminum cans, phone books, plastic bags...etc...

What You can't recycle: carbon copy paper, pampers, tires,computers , electronics...etc they are dispose of in separate warehouse......to get rid of...

The symbols stand for what is recyclable and it is given a coded number for that product..........

Every town is different. Check with Public Works and ask them for the list of numbers they take.
