Why doesn't my laptop connect when I turn my computer on?

I'm using linksys WRT54GS and I have made a profile to connect at startup. When I start my computer, there is a gray box in bottom corner, but gray means disabled. If I remove my wireless card, then put in after 10 seconds it turns green and I connect. Is there a way to connect on startup?

Configure it so that it automatically turns on and connect at startup. Use the laptops wifi software for configuring.

You need a "linksys" there cheap and easy to plug up.

maybe its your wireless card. maybe its your router.
