Why don't people have common sense anymore?

i've been seeing people do stupid things and believe retarded things too...and i believe i'm losing common sense too by being in the environment. how come, i need to know. is it just they'er getting dumber. this mainly affects the political stand point to our government..

this question is merely for the people..common of course isn't common since its only to you that its common for..but more of the basic instinct of you thought or action and what seems more reasonable.

People are becoming more stupid because technology is taking over. People don't have to worry about spelling now days because that is what spell check is for nor do they have to worry about doing basic math because that is what the calculator is for on the computer. Technology is making humans lazy. For alot of the things we do today, we just have to sit back and relax to get work done, maybe lift a couple fingers. We are becoming more stupid because we are hardly using our brain cells. People dont have any common sense anymore because everything is electronic. And there is probably more to come.

This will probably sound cliche, but I think way too many parents have stopped teaching their kids common sense things and are letting the TV raise them. They aren't out their beside their dad, learning how to "saw a board in two without cutting your thumb off" or in the kitchen with mom, learning how to "boil water". Common sense isn't taught anymore. As far as that goes, not too many moms even boil water anymore.

Common sense is neither. In essence it is just observational learning without formalizing it - in other words you notice things that seem to work and never think about why or the actual facts.

Politics have never had anything to do with common sense, and most citizens just react to the media and events without any knowledge of the actual events or analyzing them.

people no longer have common sense because things in society are no longer done in the most practical way, our legal system is often skewed and a perveyor of countless INjustices.. worst of all is the television which spews out falsities and stereotypes not to mention our culture now comes from TV not mother nature as it once did and so mother nature has quickly suffered from the lack of respect for her.. she is hurting now.. and most people are too busy saving for an ipod or MP3 player to give a stuff.. and worst of all the ever powerful feminists encouraging women to be free and liberal spenders.. we're all doomed since men follow women.. and always have.. if the woman like a strong man.. men will get strong.. if the woman like scientific men.. men will become scientific! so at present where men lack common sense.. one needs to as kthe question of the feminists who are leading ALL women down the reckless path of human extinction..

Finally our general beurocracys create much of the stupidity in society.. like pressing buttons and listening ot automated voices.. its all silly to me.. i once got a refund cheque sent to me for one cent.. i framed it as it is so stupid.. the postage cost more than the cheque.. but this is how big corporations function.. wastefully and without common sense.. so it spills out into society..

Great question! I have been wondering the same thing. I believe people are just getting dumber. On the Political stand point; I think it a power thing and they have more MONEY than sense. By you asking the question I feel better myself, that I am not the only one wondering, what the heck is going on.

v-man: common sense is not common anymore...its just way of people live. why because its easy for them....why think...if everything had been brought on gold plate. :)

EDIT: v-man: many people sacrifice common sense and interest of people who voted for them, in favor their own poliitical interest. that's why we have what we have no in society and world.
untill we change inside ourselves, we'll have all problems.
