Yup. It is possible. May I give you an already known answer. Jesus Christ and His apostles were punished for spreading the word of God.
At present, hundreds of church leaders are being hunted, maltreated, killed, and the like because of simply sharing the words of God to their fellow men. China is a great example. Brother Yun, who is featured in the book - "The Holy Man" suffered a lot of pain from his government simply because of his cause to make his people know and accept Jesus Christ as their savior.
This is one basic example of people being punished for being good.
