Softly, I will leave you softly
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go
So I leave you softly
Long before you miss me
Long before your arms can beg me stay for one more hour
Or one more day

It really helped me to sit alone and just write out all my thoughts (I've done this for hours and hours in my journal). Not only did it give me a way to vent my emotions, but also a way to prioritize what my relationship with the person should concentrate on.
Then a week later, read what you wrote. Then a month later, read what you wrote.
It will be a shocker to you when you see how much you've grown and got through the situation. You'll look back and think how much of a wimp about the whole thing you were...
Sorry, I'm not calling you a wimp. I'm just relaying my own experience with you, and how I felt about myself over the ordeals. I hope you understand that.
It really isn't hard to keep in touch, and of course the pain only stays as long as you recluse yourself from others. There are so many opportunities available to experience, I have learned, that your next opportunity is literally just around the corner, and I recommend you also let others be a part of your feelings at this time. It will help so much!

It is hard, and there is not a real "way" to say goodbye.. just let them know you love them and make sure you have a way to keep in contact..
I had to say goodbye to someone not too long ago, and it is one of the hardest things I have ever done. I am always thinking about this person..
You know, goodbye is not forever... you will see this person again in the future =)

I never say goodbye. I always say..."see you!" It makes for a lightness in my heart, thinking too that it isn't a goodbye just yet but a day out from my sight and will soon be back in time for dinner. I did not say goodbye to my mom when she died. I felt that saying goodbye is too permanent, a closure of some sort.

I won't keep the person wondering about what has happened to me. There must always be a last talk to say goodbye. Well, yeah, it might be difficult but it's one thing we have to face if everything should end.

This is hard. Ecspecailly if they are moving away from your area. There is not much you can do except surport there decision and tell them that you are happy for them. The worst thing you can do is leave things on bad terms and you will want to see this person again.

it's either say goodbye or just turn my back and leave.
saying goodbye is hard yes, some cries and let their emotions out but in the end if one has to go then just let it go.

some goodbyes are inevitable. i guess the "best" way is just to get it over with as quickly as possible. just maybe the pain would be less.
