I learned to appreciate everything I have. Growing up I didn't have much whether it be material things or emotional support or even the right kind of guidence. I turned out just fine... I can make do with anything and I am very resourceful. I try not to take things for granted. I have more now than I ever had growing up and as much as I am thankful for what I have I know I can live without most of it. I need my daughter and she needs me. If it came down to losing everything but her I think I would still feel like the most lucky girl in the world because I have her.

I reckon I learned that happiness is not just going to "fall out of the sky" and land in my lap. It takes work and self-knowledge and is very often a "choice". Not all the time...but more often that not it is. Know what I mean?

I learned that God's plans for me was to be single so I could devote my time to Him. He was gracious enough to let me marry and have children and grand children. Out of my 59 years of life, I was only married for two years, long enough to have two fantastic children. It is great to know that there are advantages to being single.

Never give money to those a second time, that didn't pay back the first loan.. Money can divide the best of friends.
