This is my first. Today is the 'due date'. I was at a 6 on Tuesday and had my membranes stripped. Also I've lost my mucous plug. Other than some pretty painful cramping Tuesday after I got 'stripped' I have no labor signs.

Well if you mean you were 6 centimeters dialated, I would assume you would be going into labor really soon. My doctors make you go to the hospital if you are 5+ cm. As for the membrane stripping...the rule of thumb is if you don't go into labor after 48 hrs after that is done, it isnt going to put you into labor...With that said, that doesnt mean you won't go into labor 72 hours...because you never know when it really is going to happen. I would try walking...ALOT.. it really does help...especially if you are already that dialated... Just as a side note, I was 2 cm dialated for about 4 weeks... had membranes stripped at 40 wks...didn't deliver until 42 weeks...just be thankfor you are that dialated..that is a very good sign! Start the walking!!

Why did you have your membranes stripped?

Your due date is only an estimate. Your baby will come when its finished "cooking". ;) Don't worry.

If you've lost your mucous plug, it will probably happen within the next week or so. If you're already 6 cm dilated, it will probably happen sooner than that. Just relax and let nature take its course. Visualizations help start labor as well as aid in relaxation during labor. It definitely helped me. Think of a rosebud opening slowly as this is what your cervix is doing. Bounce on a birthing ball. Walk (a lot). Do yoga exercises.

You'll have your baby with you very soon. Don't worry. Congratulations and good luck!

You will go into labor when your baby is ready to be born. There's no hurry, really. The average for first time moms is 41 1/2 weeks. You're not even over due until after 42 weeks, and even then as long as you and baby are doing fine there is no hurry. Hang in there, either way, it will be soon! :)

Haha! Join the club, girl! My first was 10 days late. My second was 6 days early. It's all luck of the draw! But probably very soon. I would guess within 2-3 days. Good luck!

I always went into labor within 24 hours of them striping. As everyone is different, I wouldn't worry to much. Your not past your due date. I bet it will happend over the weekend. Go for a long walk, it might get things going. If not talk with your doc. maybe he/she will induce. Good luck and Congrats.
