I don't have a single favorite band. But one of my favorite bands is Rainbow with Ronnie James Dio (my favorite singer). On their second album, "Rainbow Rising" there was a song called "Stargazer" about an ancient wizard who enslaves a large number of people to build a giant tower "to the stars". I have listened to that song hundreds of times over the past 30 years and it still gives me goosebumps, it's that good. The music is fantastic and Dio is especially awesome on vocals. One of my all-time favorite songs.
