I'd say he means "It wouldn't do any good to complain, so I'm not crazy about going into it". I'd say he's in-between but given the chance to do it over again, he wouldn't. It's too much hassle and expense to get off the dime, though, so he stays married.

Happily married is judged individually. For him he might be happy in the marriage, or is just content.. It's not something he wants out of, and probably isn't the worse. You need to consider how long has he been married too? The longer the more complacent one becomes.

He's a guy, what kind of answer did you expect? He's not going to blush and start gushing that " This is the fairy tale marriage that i've always dream of since I was a little boy". He pretty much gave you an answer that was straight to the point i.e. I'm happy and mind your business!

Yes, if he can't complain about anything then he should be happy. Most people would die for a relationship where there was nothing to complain about.

It's just a cliche. Maybe things aren't all peaches and cream, but no marriage is perfect 100 percent of the time.

Yup, he is. Except, if his wife is around when you asked him.
Otherwise, really he is happily married.

I would say yes, he is. Guys tend not to gush about their love life so if he said he has nothing to complain about... very good sign.
