I am old enough to be her father and this girl at work keeps touching, hugging and pestering me...she is a nice girl and I don't like the idea that she does this..it's really annoying.....not to mention others are starting to get weird ideas. I don't want to get her into trouble with work and I already told her it was inappropriate for her to do what she does.
I am wondering if I should tell her boss...I can't talk to her parents....her mom was murdered by dad when she was 6 yo and is having problems with an aunt she is living with and wants to move out....HELP!!! or am I just overreacting.

It sounds like she's had a hard life and is having a tough time with appropriate behavior.

From an employer's perspective, the liability of a minor and an adult... even rumors is a nightmare.

From your perspective it needs to be stopped. Be very firm about appropriate behavior when she is around you, even in the presence of others. If she will not stop, you may have to speak to human resources about the situation. It is a form of sexual harrassment. (I am assuming you both work at the same company and if you don't why can't you just avoid her?)

Dan H is right...It is sexual harassment, especially if you've already asked her to stop. A comfortable work environment is not just a "women's right." Everyone should be able to choose who is allowed to touch their body. I think that you should speak to a supervisor about it because of your own comfort level, but also because it's best to confront inappropriate behavior as quickly as possible. If she continues to act this way as a matter of habit, she could find herself in real trouble later.

All she has to do is get angry with you and YOU are out of a job....Sexual harassment goes for everyone, regardless of sex. Take it to your boss and make a complaint. She is old enough to know that her behavior is unacceptable, especially in the workplace. You are definitely NOT over reacting.

You don't want to get "HER" in Trouble?????

Ok then remain quiet and find another job.

Or better yet, since others already are noticing just wait until the wrong thing occurs and guess who'll be the main suspect...

Better talk with her boss
Ask that he/she step up and mention that "others" have brought it to attention; keeps you out of the fray.

basically tell her you're actually not fascinated. Be elementary yet do not do it to the reality which you may somewhat could injury her. basically be straight away up and say she's basically not this sort of woman you may evaluate relationship. i wish that helped.
