about 5 years ago, I started to fall into a really depressive episode. At first I thought it was only because I had a bad break from a relationship but the feelings wouldn't go away even after I got a new girlfriend. It was wrecking my life until a point where it was seriously affecting my work and personal life.

She was very worried but at the same time couldn't understand why I was still sad and thought that I still couldn't let go of my previous relationship. Being the wonderful person that she is, she put aside her feelings and suggested I go for psychiatric evaluation. Many months later and even more anti-depressants, I was not coming close to being better at all.

After doing some research online, I found out the real cause as you described it really makes a lot of sense and purchased this program. The results were simply astonishing. I read this book over three times and put all words in action. Using this method, I've kept my depression at bay ever since. Up to date I'm still living happily with my girlfriend.

Depression Free Method?

Depression is a serious problem that needs to be consulted through a professional. They are a few things that can better the mood such as working out, getting a pet, devoting urself to a religion or writing in a journal. Writing works really well for me. I suggest a combination of working out and writing, because working out releases serotonin, an endorphin that helps us feel good. It has the same effect as antidepressants but without the negative side effects. And Writing in a journal helps express suppressed feelings and finding solutions to your problems. Hope I helped = )

Well first you need to tell someone if your in danger of hurting yourself or others. Find support and if possible to therapy or some support group. Depressions are serious there are no quick fixes so its important that you do something about it

There is no quick fix for depression, it's not "feeling down" or "being moody" it's a real medical issue and requires professional help. Counseling may help or medication - best best is to talk to your doctor.

I have depression. I don't take medication. I do all kinds of things. I listen to music, meditate, bake cookies, talk to friends on the phone, answer questions, go to movies, take walks etc... Anything to keep my mind in a pleasant state. I want to be happy. It's a choice. Life is too short to be miserable! Good luck!

Depression can be (and I think most is) caused by anxiety. Anxiety is nothing more than worry. Looking to see if the worry is worth worrying about then eliminating it should do it.
Often times, people labor under distorted thinking, which makes them worry. Especially over things that either are not real, or things they can do nothing about.

There is no quick fix for depression, true depression requires counselling or medication or both.

i am not suggesting bypass seeking professional help but here are my suggestions (i suffer from depression as well)

1. listen to uplifting music (something fast and upbeat, no slow dark tunes)
2. let some light in the room (did you know darkness harbors bad moods?)
3. find out what triggered this latest episode- bad memory, regrettable actions, made wrong decision, etc
4. forgive yourself- usually depression is caused by some act we did that we can't forgive ourselves for or beating ourself up about it. remind yourself that YOU ARE A GREAT person
5. hang out with some loved ones- my fave are my children, we'll go to the park or something.
6. participate in activities you like/love-swimming, going for ice cream, shopping, jogging etc
7. tell someone- they will usually support you, help encourage you, help you in venting out your pain/frustration/sadness
8.eat healthy- some fatty foods trigger depression
9. get plenty of sleep-it will help you feel renewed
10. wear bright colors- its sounds crazy but even colors affect our mood
