The road not taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

Twofold: it's all about YOU, and it's all about HELPING OTHERS. Those are your two priorities, and if you don't take good care of the first one, you can't handle the second one. The most gratifying thing in the world is knowing you have made a difference in the quality of life for others, such as a low income family with children who are struggling to make ends meet and maybe living from paycheck to paycheck (if they are that lucky), and the next most satisfying thing is the inner knowledge that you are taking care of YOURSELF daily, and not leaving yourself overextended, nor out in the cold, emotionally or physically. Providing for yourself is always job one. It is not selfish. It is the strongest position there is, and you always work in life from the strongest position you can find. Self-care is first and foremost, because how you feel about YOU determines how you treat OTHERS. I have used these two priorities for almost fifty years with success.

I recycle old computers when people locally upgrade to something better, they give me their old computer stuff and I find new homes for it. You should see the look on people's faces when they get a free computer! I ask waitresses sometimes, "Know any family who would like a free computer?" They just stare at me for a minute. When they see the components start to show up, sometimes their eyes will water up. Michelle at a local restaurant began to cry because she had spoken up for her daughter, who was just about to have a baby. She had requested a computer system for her daughter. It made her day. She told all the other waitstaff she was getting a new computer for her daughter. It was heartwarming, to say the least. So for this writer, HELPING OTHERS is the right path. Of course, if you find something more worthwhile, then that will become the right path for you. I can only speak from my own experience.

A right path is a path that is all about the destination that it leads to. It is a path that allows its travellers to travel in good faith, with courage but also with caution, a paths where danger lurks round every corner, but the hope and happy anticipations of finding something new, and getting closer to what is to be found never diminish or fade along the weariness of the journey.

A path where there are fellow travellers and plenty of space available for people to walk side by side, where there are sweetest shades of greenest trees along its both sides, for people to rest and restore their strengths lost, where coolest fountains of sweetest water run at nature commands, so that people may quench temporarily their eternal thirst.

A right path is a path that is all about the destination it leads to; a path is right when it never far from the destination. A right path is the path that you can share without resentment and fear of losing.

The path that keeps you true to yourself, who you are and what you believe. It is the path your family may or may not take but it will not be the path that forces you to hurt your loved ones or yourself.

The right path is the one that goes along the side of Speer Blvd in Denver. It is very pretty and fun to ride on with a bicycle.

I feel there is no universal right path and I strongly feel that people who think that their path is the right one cause most of our problems. I would suggest that the right path is the path that feels right. I use the word feel consciously for me it is feeling the right path that decides thinking is too shallow. You'll know the right path as soon as you set foot on it. Trust your feelings.

1) Don't rely on external powers. You must do it for yourself.
2) Don't explain things on the basis of external judgment. This saps your determination.
3) Understand that the universe does not operate in a binary fashion just because your planet has a day-night cycle.
4) Understand that all of life is inexorably interconnected and don't be fooled by the visual input that creates the false impression of separateness.
5) Get rid of those who seek to ensnare you in guilt and unhappiness. They are serving their own purposes, not your life.
6) Understand that all of life, including the tiniest particle of dust, is continually changing. Do not get attached to circumstances.
7) Do not complain if you don't always find the going easy. Enjoy what there is to enjoy, and suffer what there is to suffer and never forget that your beliefs determine your environment.

We choose our own paths and the branches off, our instinct
tells us the right way from the wrong. No one takes a wrong path without being aware of the possible consequences.
The right path is one that doesn't interfere with or offend another.
