Environment is only part of what creates your personality. Personal emotions and the way you perceive yourself and others also greatly influences your personality.
I am completely different than most people in my family and social circle.

I'm not sure I understand your question...
...but I do believe that every human on the planet could've turned out 1000 different ways by the time they are an adult, and that their environment, their childhood, is what decides who they become. On the other hand, some humans can endure more than others. Some will turn anti-social in the midst of a harsh environment. Others will take what they experience and turn it into an energy they use to focus and become more powerful than everyone else.
I've always believed myself to be a nice person. My mom treated me with hatred. I became a bitter, and suspicious, pessimistic individual. Now that I have been away from her for a few months, I am more optimistic about others, and they usually don't prove me wrong. :-)

well.. the environment and social influence is just one part of the puzzle. your biological make up... instincts, spirituality all join up to make ur personality.
Being brought up in a particular way... at one point in life a person starts looking for the truth in life..i.e. who he/she really is.. why he/she is here on earth and for what? to find the answer you need to read through a variety of things and come to a realisation. It is a state of mind that ou could achieve. When you get this realisation, you will undersatand the answers to all your questions... keep exploring in to deep parts of yourself... underatdning the 'self' is not an easy job. Take charge in your life and let the universal energy direct you... however, before doing so... educate yourself on different aspects of life such as sociology, psychology, spirituality, parapsychology, arts and crafts, history, cults and sects, different religions... etc etc
Life is a long journey and every passing day is a lesson you learn... if u work hard enough one day you willfind the answers.... Good luck!

the question is flawed.....this is how things would occur....
the fundamental flaw in your question is that u did not consider where a baby come from....when a baby is born to a mammal like human his parents will look after him...its instinct...at this point human sense doesnt work......
as the child would grow up he would be gifted with a brother/sister that would be the first society...a family
extending this logic will form the whole mosaic of society.....remember how man formed the society..that history would repeat....
now back to ur question put in a correct way if a baby was put in an isolated room and not allowed to interact he would become .... well like an animal....he would not be able to interact or anything.....
but just keep a male and female in the isolated room and allow for food.....with time the whole society would start forming....
hope this helps....

We are more alike than we like to admit, but there is individuality because each of us are not affected exactly the same way with every situation being the same. I think we have to have some experiences to know what to do, including showing emotions. Babies have died when they were not held and given attention. They may have had basic needs taken care of, but they were not loved. We are social animals and without the contact, we suffer.

All of us are different as we are effected by our surroundings, our beliefs, our education,..
In the society we have to make sure we follow the acceptable behavior where ever you are, but free to be the way we wish to. So we always end up with different personality.
So you are still an individual.
