Why do older women get jealous of younger women who date older men?

I am 35, I once dated a bright 23 year old college student in the political science field (not a ditzy, superficial girl). My female friends and acquaintances, and ex-girlfriend were less welcome to her than other women I've introduced them to and I've been told that some even made rude remarks about her.

Unfortunately we all have insecurities. Many women know that in most cases a younger woman is more sexually attractive than an older woman. Rather than delving into our feelings of inadequacy, when we feel threatened by someone, many of us find it less frightening to focus on why that someone is inferior.

I am a 45 year old woman and am in no way jealous of any younger women - ever. Don't care who you date either. Neither do any of my many 'older' female friends. I would never want to go back to being young either. I am very happy with the person I am and love my life. When you get older, you will know what I mean. *Edit: LOL - just read where someone (very uninformed) said that younger women are more adventurous in bed - LOL!

Do what is best for you!Only you can live your life as you deem fit.No one can be in your shoes but only you and you know where it pinches.People will talk and act up no matter what you do,so why bother?

To Olesya C,did you call your hubby old fart?I read n reread your post.I hope not!When u marry someone u do it cos u made the best decision.Before getting serious with someone u shd know if u'd ve issues with old fart or not.

The reality is this for all women especially those of you who raise your noses and look down on women who marry older men.If you marry a young man one day you will be the old fart and he will desire a younger woman,therefore as an older woman young and older men will not desire you(99% of the time)I know there are extraordinary situations where younger men desire older women,but trust me that is a fetish not what the young man ideally wants.

So why not marry the older guy who will always see you as his young jewel. lol.

Here's what I think:

1. The older women are jealous.
2. They may think the younger female is using the older man, or the older man is using the younger girl.
3. They have this conservative view that people should stick to their own age and they disregard who the people dating *actually* are as *people*.
4. Sometimes when women get older, they just like to *itch and complain about anything, and a younger female w/ an older male is *fresh* stuff to gossip about.
5. Some women feel intimidated by younger women, not because of intelligence, but because younger women pose a threat or beauty or simply for being young and having the chance to still live a life and do anything with it.

Women don’t want to feel as though they are completely responsible for your happiness and that is what it feels like when the other person has no outside interests. Men who are overeager or jump when the woman says jump are the ones who are more likely to end up in the friend zone. This doesn’t mean that you should play the game of not calling for a few days; it means that you should set healthy boundaries until you both naturally find a spot for the other in your lives.

Because most of these young girls are gold diggers and are looking for an older man to take care of them financially and buy them all sorts of designer clothes, purses, shoes, etc.
Not to mention, a lot of these men are going through a mid life crisis and want to feel that they are still attractive to the "younger" opposite sex. So what does that leave for us 35+ women if all the men our age are going after the 22 and 23 yr olds? The young girls need to stick to men their own age.
I can completely understand this. I am 39. I get hit on all the time by guys 18 through 25. I am soooo not interested in someone that young. But the men my age usually don't care. I have to say that I do look young for my age. People usually guess me at 27 - 30. But I want a man with some life experience under his belt and I hate seeing these young girls flipping their hair and batting their eyelashes at guys 10 -20 yrs older than them when they can clearly get a nice, good looking guy thats closer to their own age. Young girls nowadays are lazy. They don't want to work and earn their own money for the things they desire. They want a rich older guy to buy it all for them. They usually end of dumping the guy after they've gotten what they want out of him.
Happened to a friend of mine. She was 10 yrs younger. Had a go-nowhere job and he took her on vacations (that he paid for) bought her jewelry, Coach purses, leather jacket, Gucci and Tommy Hilfiger clothes. Paid to get her car fixed, new tires, the list goes on and on. She treated him like sh*t to the point where he would call me sobbing his eyes out.

What to be "jealous" about??? Not only dated, I have been married to a guy 16 years older than I am. Sooner or later, it always becomes clear that old fart will always be an old fart with a clock showing 6:30 at any time. With you, the difference was not so big though. For women, 23 is the same as if a 28-year old man in terms of mentality/

I doubt this woman had two personalities for meeting you and your friends. That would be pointless and asine. Besides you've said your female friends were unwelcoming at first meet, and your guy friends did not respond alike.People do get threatened when they see a new competitor stepping into the territory they've mostly dwelved in, then they soon assume it as "their territory" - as owning a right on it. For anyone new to come in and try it out, would be regarded as an trespasser or invader.
