The night is as cold and damp as a witch's breath. The moon looks ill behind broken cloud. Would you rather stay home taking a chance on tv or going out somewhere you are fairly sure some of your friends might be.

I'd call up a couple of my best buddies over to my house and snuggle up near the fireplace.

stay home, tv is great on a cold night.
and going out in the middle of the night where you're not even sure if your friends will be there doesnt sound too appealing.
