whitie possum, how cool are you? can't do that though, live in a multi-floored apartment building and neighbors would howl like the dogs they are...
however the moment I become a home owner, I shall utilize your tactics. WITH PLEASURE. You... who own homes, oh how I envy thee, not to the point of jealousy, just ambition! I want to plant a tomato plant! whaaa whaaa.

When my husband snores, I just scootch him to roll over on the other side...whichever is the other one from the one he's on...or I touch him somewhere on his face very lightly and it disturbs him...makes him stop for a bit. I usually have to do it a few times, though. Then I drift off in the quiet before he starts up again. Usually he doesn't wake me, but if he does, I repeat those motions. I HATE snoring almost as much as I hate it when someone gets the hiccups...but I guess I'm just a grouch.

Earplugs help.
Or you could scare him a bit. Tell him in the morning that he stops breathing when he snores and that he might have sleep apnea. That you thought several times throughout the night that he might die. Then send him to a sleep clinic so they can pinpoint why he snores. He might have a medical condition.
Scaring him a bit is just a way of getting him to go (most men wouldn't voluntarily- men tend to think they're invincible...).
In the meantime, stock up on those earplugs!
Sweet dreams!

I suggest doing something louder. Making blender drinks right next to his head, or start the vacuum to clean up a pretend mess.
Upside is, even if it doesn't work, you've got a drink in your hand and you're ahead of the housework. If he's the helpful sort he'll vacuum the rest of the room just to get peace and quite.
If he asks why you're doing it, tell him he just told you too. Whimper a little for sympathy.
EDIT
I shall plant a tomato next year in your honor!

He’s taken time that Nature meant for meditative snores, to ceaseless din at your chagrin and waste of shoes and floors.

in addition to getting breathe right strips for your hubster you could also try getting him the thing that you put into his nose ...nose clipse i think they are called. like a nose clip for swimming sort of but it goes inside the nostrils and is held in by magnets. pharmacies carry them but by different names i think. a friend used them and he said he got the best nights sleep in so long. he doesnt know if he snored tho. maybe your hubby has sleep apnea? i would talk to his doc about it. maybe he will send him to sleep study. at least you would get ONE quiet night lol! best to you both :)

Get a tiny pinch of pepper and drop it into his mouth or around his nose. That should stop it for a while.

Well I could if I play my radio really loud, but that might wake him up.
