A 307 motor isn't really known for making gobs of power, doesn't have the right factory parts, heads or four bolt mains---for a basic, simple power increase, I'd go with a good dual plane intake and a mild street cam and headers for good power and economy. You don't need roller or solid flat tappets (lifters) for a fairly stock motor---they're meant more for racing engines to maximize power...just go with a good hydraulic lifter type cam set...Crane, Comp Cams, Edelbrock, etc... Make sure you tune the carb well to maximize the power from adding the intake and cam....lots of variables in tuning a Holley....jets, accel pump squirters, accel pump, power valve, vacuum secondary springs, etc...

Jeremy On your truck the set up is nice but when it comes to any/all carburators I would rather go with the best in the business and it is edlebrock, they have really beaten out the regular old school stock carbs and it is to your liking that even HOLLY carburators are done by edlebrock.Hey why not go for all the marbles and while your doing this project get some chevy truck old school engine masters to help you get nothing but the best in engine parts, upgrades etc etc.

If you can at all get a 350,327,or even a 305 do not waste your time on a 307 they are weak and an obsolete motor.

specific! yet you're able to desire to get valve springs to examine the cam and new rocker palms because of the fact the better elevate will push/rock them previous there unique placed on trend and rigidity them and that they are going to smash. Been there accomplished that. inventory previous college Chevy's heads will cope with as much as .500" elevate. something extra might desire machining on the spring wallet to ward off coil spring bind etc. etc. etc.
