He called one soldier a phony soldier, the liberal media just added their spin to it so that it sounds like he was referring to all of the soldiers.
Guess what, you fell for it HOOK LINE AND SINKER
I don't particularly care for Rush but I did hear that comment and it is nothing like you are trying to make it. Do yourself a favor, look at the link "tab is back" provided. After you listen to it you can delete your question so not to many people will see what an azz you are making of yourself.

I guess if you tell a lie enough times, people will think it's the truth. If you're going to start about the "phoney soldiers" comment, at least post the ENTIRE conversation. Those of you that complain the most about the comment, never even heard it. You are relying on Media Matters quote. There are those around that heard the comments on the radio, and know that Media Matters is taking it completely out of context. Just like they did on the "Barak the Magic *****" statement. Media matters claimed that Limbaugh made that remark, but he was repeating what a LA Times reporter had printed.
BTW, what do YOU call a "soldier" that was discharged after 44 days of Boot Camp, that told the "press" he was a corporal in the Rangers, that he had been awarded the Purple Heart, and had "witnessed attrocities" in Iraq and Afghanistan, while never even leaving the US in the service of the military? If that's not a phoney soldier what is.

Why even ask the question since you have already decided what is true? Have you heard the selection from the show. I actually did. It is amazing that anyone could take that discussion as a slam at the troops as opposed to a label on a lying sleazebag who spread vicious lies about the military and GOT CAUGHT DOING IT. The "soldier" involved, who washed out of boot camp, is currently facing charges by lying about his 44 day military "career" in order to get VA benefits. If that's not pathetic and phoney, what is?
I do not defend every Rush statement blindly and sometimes what I hear makes me cringe (although in comparison to Stephanie Miller and sometimes Ed Schultz his comments are clear pearls), but in this case the criticism is truly off base and reflects poorly on those trying to "catch" him. It merely proves that the critics are not relying on actual research but are using a secondary source (Media Matters) which has clearly misrepresented the comment in order to discredit a voice they feel could be effective in countering their message.
Nice tactic if all you care about is winning. Cynical and divisive if you use any other yardstick. Sorry they caught you with this tripe.

Rush was correct in referring to Jessie MacBeth as a phoney soldier. MacBeth lied about his service record and performing atrausities in Iraq. He was convicted and will be sentenced for his fraud. He did not complete boot camp, did not serve in Iraq and lied. Media Matters is a far left group financed by George Sorros and very anti military. If all you so called web bloggers and commenters would check things out before you start running off the mouth you would know the truth. Just type Jesse MacBeth in google and learn the truth. Here is a link to one story http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003739269_fakeranger08m0.html

I did hear the show and I know that he was referring to the same phony soldiers who ABC reported on two days before Rush did. ABC called them Phony Heroes. Rush had been talking about Jesse Macbeth the day before and it was evident that he was referring to the same thing. Anybody that heard it all and know Rush's politics would have to be dishonest to pretend to understand it any other way. Mediamatters is an anti American left wing organization put together by Hillary Clinton and her other socialist friends.

Rush can slander the working class soldiers who have watched civilians and their brothers die because he is a $36 Million a year Conservative entertainer that loves fascism and lying chickenhawks.
MoveOn.org on the other hand is funded by millions of hardworking Americans from all walks of life. They can't state the obvious about a Bush appointed General that cherry-picked information to fit Bush's demand for $191,000,000,000 for the continued Quagmire in Iraq, because only the ruling class can use the First Ammendment "in a time of War."

I read the story about that "soldier," and he's a phony. That's how I can defend someone calling him a phony. It's actually quite simple forming an argument based on fact.

They always have a "story"; "angle"; "clarification".
It seems unnatural how they set everything up. Like defense is offense. "No Spin Zone." When it is all spin.
I think there needs to be an indepth analysis of the psychopathology of republicans, I think it would be more fascinating than "The Psychopath Next Door."

Rush Sets the Record Straight:
"Phony Soldiers" Is a Phony Story
Thank you, George Soros, for demonstrating how the American left, the Democrat Party and the Drive-By Media work in concert to spread lies.
