my friend said his computer wont start up from when he accidently clicked hibernate.. it shows the dell logo but after that nothing.. it stays on though.. but he cant see anything and the monitor is fine. the fan stays on too but at a low speed

Do like what Billgate said and also when it comes on then go to the "Device Manager" and find your mouse or keyboard and select the properties. There should be an option that allows you to let the mouse or keyboard bring the computer out of hibernation.

Also sometimes there are updates that fixes problems with computers not coming out of hibernation.

Normally if you move the mouse of hit a few keys on the keyboard it will start back up. Otherwise hold down the power button and restart the computer, as a last resort.

Remove the power supply and the battery then Power on again.
