Yes. Even if you don't agree with the views of our president you should respect the office. So many people in our country have become non-patriotic and disrespectful. Not a good sign for the future of our nation.

I can tell you why he is hated. He lied to the country--not about a sexual relationship----but about WMD in Iraq. We were attacked on 9/11 and he went after the country that never attacked us. He took us into a war that he wanted for his own--to get back Saddam for making his Dad a fool. It was his own personal vendetta. He never signed the Brady bill, and now in Bush Jr reign--gun violence is at a all time high. The economy sucks, prices keep going up, gas keeps going up--and the min wage stays the same. There are many job loses. The country is divided, and now I hear China has our secret information for the air-force. I can go on and on and on------This president has done nothing but turn the country up side down----China has more power than us and Japan's economy is booming--What used to be the USA is now what is in other countries--a great economy.

I really do hate him, and I hate it that there are still Americans that support him.
The United States Constitution is being poisoned by toxic buildup whose source is evermore obvious. It is being destroyed by Democrats that are aiding and abetting the Republican Party and the fascists within. That includes, among others, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzalez, Andy Card, et al. More and more it means holding Nancy Pelosi, John Conyers, Harry Reid, etc., accountable for doing nothing to protect and defend the Constitution from its domestic enemies. Democrats are incapable of concluding that the only way to save the U.S. Constitution is to hold accountable those that have violated it.
David Lindorff states, "I see this anger welling up among progressives and independents everywhere I travel, as people say they've simply had it with the Democrats." I too, have "had it"! I just got off the phone speaking with the office of Vermont's U.S. Representative, Peter Welch, who is opposed to impeachment. I made it clear that I am disgusted with him, his fellow Democrats and Bernard Sanders (who as a congressman was an impeachment obstructionist and who now as a Senator continues to be opposed). The people are so fed up Liberals and so-called progressives that polls now show the lowest approval rating for Congress since polls began. Nancy, Peter, John, Bernie, don't you get it? The people are demanding the rejuvenation of the Bill of Rights that define freedom and liberty. The people the U.S. Constitution demand impeachment.

both sides are guilty of this. I do think that the right is more effective at framing issues to export their message. I disagree with Limbaugh on almost everything, but his ability to call into question institutions to undermine their message is inspired.
response to Forrest:
We look at history through the prism of the present. Thus questions like, "Was the Civil War important?" remain(ed) in flux long after the war was fought. Why? Immediately after the war, Reconstruction began empowering blacks, but after Reconstruction, Jim Crowe took hold and removed much of that power. It wasn't until the Civil Rights movement that this war was considered important (i.e. the cause of tectonic change) again by many historians. As a result, the answer to the question after the fact for many was yes, no, yes. The view of today will be completely predicated on the reality of the future's present.

I can understand an old-fashioned republican hating any increase in the power of the executive (president). But why hate the incumbent personally?
Maybe leftists subconsciously want to be kings themselves and so hate the boring system of political compromise that produces a popularly chosen president? And so they hate the representative of it - the president?

I'm not a Bush person and am bright enough to know that hate is a mighty strong word to use. In fact, to use it in that context is reminiscent of a child who doesn't realize what they're saying.
To put it in a nutshell, it's childish and belittling not to the people it's used against but to the person who says things like that.
Place them on ignore. That's what I do. :)

They said the same thing about Ford, Reagan who they tried to assassinate and Bush 1. They are THE party of hate and division. Oh and the party of RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. They are the party of women's rights as long as they get serviced in the Oval Office and they wear a blue dress.
Yeah_but must really hate Slick Willy as much as he lied during his administration. And his 1st Tramp, especially how the trashed the White House and Air Force 1. She claimed stuff she took was given to her and Monica's boyfriend but was actually given to Abraham Lincoln.

You are right. George Bush will be looked at VERY FAVORABLY through the eyes of history. 25 to 30 years from now when the Middle East is a democratic and peaceful area of trade and culture, people will look back and say what a wonderful and forward thinking leader he was.
Abraham Lincoln was not liked in his life time. It wasn't until 60 years had passed that he began to be looked at as a hero and great leader.
