has anyone tryed this and if so how is it? Any side effects like weight gain or emotional problems like with the pill?

I LOVE MY MIRENA. In my case, no weight gain, no emotional problems. Absolutely wonderful. My husband and I LOVE it. The figures published state that having your tubes tied is 99.5% effective and the Mirenas effectiveness is 99.9%. You cant beat that. I would, and have, recommend it to anyone!! It is good or five years, not 10, but still that is awesome.

Have just recently gotten the Mirena and I have no complaints so far, my doctor did tell me would have some spotting which seems to be the case but was also told by her that most women do not have a period with it and even with the spotting there is some medicine that can take care of that. So I would say not a bad deal with not having to remember to take a pill daily.

I USED TO WORK IN AN OBGYN OFFICE AND THE PATIENTS REALLY LIKED THE MIRENA. THE ONLY SIDE EFFECT I EVER HEARD WAS MOODINESS. BUT THAT IS GOING TO BE WITH ANY TYPE OF HORMONE. OTHER THAN THAT EVERYONE LOVED IT. THE GOOD THING IS IF IT WORKS YOU CAN KEEP IT FOR 10 YEARS. IF NOT THEY CAN TAKE IT RIGHT BACK OUT! HOPE THIS HELPS.

I've had mine for a year now. No, no side effects, but the best things about it is hardly any to no periods and you don't have to remember to take a pill every day.
