Can I be fired if I don't sign a written warning if I don't agree with it and I believe it is dishonest?

The written warning will go into your personnel file regardless of whether you sign or not.

If you do not agree with the warning, you should write a rebuttal to the warning and ask that it be placed in your personnel file along with the warning. Be factual and brief. Keep office politics and personal feelings out of it. This will be a part of your permanent record.

And, yes in many states you can be fired for any non-illegal reason. You can't be fired for ethnic, religious reasons or for being male or female. You can, however be fired in these states because the boss felt like firing someone.

Your company may have a written policy about how employment can be terminated. Read the policy. It will tell you what's coming next and how to avoid it.

Just remember most companies are at will employers, this means they can let you go for no reason if they want. by not signing or going through the right channels to correct the warning, you would give them a reason to attempt to dismiss you.

Depending on where you live, you can be fired for ANY reason. In Texas, we can fire with or without cause.
