Location: The United Nations headquarters is in New York City. The buildings contain chambers for the Security Council and General Assembly as well as offices for the secretary-general and other international civil servants. The site, at East 46th Street and First Avenue in Manhattan, is considered "international territory" and is, therefore, not technically part of the United States.

The UN was founded upon the organization that came before it- The League of Nations, drafted at the Paris Peace Conferences after WWI and based in Geneva. Though the headquarters for the the UN are now in NY, its roots lie with its predecessor in Geneva.

Israel would be defeated and destroyed in the first serious war. Of course, it would not be able to win the war of 1967 and even less so , the Yom Kippur war of 1973. And that Arabs would attack it - of this there is not any doubt. Honestly, I am very grateful to Arabs for having refused to accept the basic UN resolution of 181. If they accepted it in 1948 and created that Arab state in Judea and Samaria, Israel would have the absolutely indefensable borders and would not be able to successfully fight Arabs some 20 years later when they were armed to their teeth by the Soviet Union
