Freedom must exist internally before it can exist externally. If I am always caught up in desires and ambition, I could be drowning in a sea of opportunities and still not be free. Look at some of the people we think are free because of their great wealth...what do they do with this 'freedom'?
Freedom and love are brothers...If I do not love myself, how can I love others? My 'love' will always be conditional, which has more to do with attachment and control.
Attachment and control do not lead to freedom.
"How do you know you reached freedom? "
The pursuit of freedom is itself an enslavement.
Just honestly observe all the chains that you bind yourself with...if you can see them for what they really are (no judgments or labels)...you will see yourself for who you are(no judgments or labels)...I believe this is the fountainhead of love and freedom.

It is the state of being liberated from some kind of bondage or attachment. For example, a person may have to work for his entire life for his boss so as to earn living whereas to be free is the person to be able to apply self-determination and create and run something such as an enterprise on his own and become the boss. In this way, that person is free from the state of being under someone's control and authority. Thus he is no more answerable to anyone. To be enslaved is to accept the reality that you will always be under the dictatorship of a higher authority and be exploited all the time.

okay well our Constitution gave us freedom in the first ammendment. being enslaved can mean several different things depending on who you ask. In todays society are we not enslaved to creditors. basically we work to make money to pay someone else.Right! okay there once was some people called indentered slaves or servents who agreed to work for safe passeage to America from England then you have the African Americans who were enslaved in the south so I guess it is all based on how you look at it.

Freedom is a state of mind more than a physical condition. Most of us are slaves of our own doing. Ego, pride, lust and greed are all chains that bind us, but can be easily broken if we find the will.

Correction , ʎəʌəəʍ ʎəʌəəd ʎəʌəəls. (Hewhoshallnotbenamed) Karl Marx came up with a better system, just nobody has properly implemented it. admit it needs some fine tuning and can't be imposed from the top down..it has to arise naturally (maybe starting with local credit co-ops) from a grassroots level. Unfortunately that might only occur after the complete collapse of corporate monopoly capitalism and the devastation of the environment.

Your body may be enslaved by others but your mind is always free for your own thoughts so to is your spirit.
No one can enslave your heart your spirit or your mind.
To be enslaved is to be held captive to do anothers bidding.

I think if you are allowed to choose, you have freedom. When you are a slave, you have no choice.

I think if you can tell what's one your mind without anyone threatening to stop you..that's freedom.
If you can say what you want to say, thank what you want to think, do things the way you want to..
that's freedom
