Im gonna whine for a moment here. I am taking 5 classes in college and I am trying to move out because my family nags and Im a scapegoat for their problems. The apartments in the area close to school are SO expensive and there are no jobs around that would help me support myself, now I got extra resposibilities at school too. I am so overwhelmed, I want to leave so badly and be alone. My car is old, so working/living far is just not an option. One area I like has some apartments but they're FULL of DSHS people paying only $50/month ... this is unfair. :( someone guide me. xoxo Oh yea and I got some medical condition no one can diagnose :(

I am studying international relations so I can help those people with 'unfair' circumstances in Third World. I am most likely getting internship to the UN, yes UN!!! That is why I am so overwhelmed. As for local American baby making families getting all the benefits is NOT fair. You moron! Dont judge before you know someone!

QuantumHealer,

You may be about to learn some things very important and useful (reality).

First, don't panick. Your problems are (most likely) solvable. Take things one at a time and deal with them.

It's frustrating when those close to you aren't being positive (they'll come around).

If necessary you could take a term (or semester) off (not the best solution, but doable).

Are student loans a possibility (again not the best solution, but doable).

Jobs such as waitress or anything where you get tips can go a long way toward bill paying.

If you can drop a class or two it might help (it's easy to get overloaded).

Do you know any mechanical minded people (brother, friend, neighbor). Maybe they would trade tutoring or some other kind of work for maintaining your car. Or if you can find a tip making job you might trade it off.

You're not alone. Most students get stuck like this at times. Be as patient as you can and just work things through the best you can. That's really all life can ask of you is your best.

Okay first how many college credits do you have? Second trying to work and go to college taking 5 classes will not work. trust me I work full time and have had to drop more than one class I have now met my limit on classes I am allowed to drop. You should try finding a room mate if the rent is to high. Advertise at the college. As for a job if you are by any chance majoring in education sub or try to become an aid. 195 hrs sub and 1yr of aid will get you free college if you major in education in Texas. I am not sure in other states but there is a high demand for teachers and the pay isn't great as an aid but I love my job. Waitressing could also be something else you could do if you want to work only weekends.

Go to school. Get a job. Now before you move out. Don't put the cart befor the horse. Eat out as if this was your Apartment. Come home when everyone is in bed, save your money. Move only when you have a better car. Also only Go for the best!!!!!

Fairness will always come back to bite you.

yes it is unfair. However, billions of people on this planet will never have an education past a primary school level. How is it fair to them that you are in college. Millions of children will die of starvation tonight. Millions of children are orphaned due to HIV/AIDS. How is it fair to them that you have a place to live and can still have a car?

How is it fair that some children have to pick up machine guns tomorrow and fight off their neighbours and governments, while you have the privilege and luxury of an education?

Yes, life is unfair.

You need a social worker not a philosopher... Breath deeply and focus on your goals. As you are working towards a goal everything else feels less intense!!!

Suck it up about the family.....let it roll off you like water on a duck.
Somebody above was correct--your problems are SMALL compared to other people...
Do you want my sister's uterine cancer, or my neighbor's dead soldier son?
Cry me a frickin' river.
