um..
i don't attempt to outdrink anyone ever. i drink as much as i want/feel comfortable drinking in a given situation.
sometimes i'll have 3/4 of a bottle of wine over supper and the guy with me will have a glass. it's not a contest but more something to give you pleasure on some level.
