As a teenager in the 60's, we all became familiar with the peace symbol during the Vietnam War. It is a circle with a vertical line top to bottom and then there are two short lines of the vetical line. You end up with a pie with two large pieces on top, and two small pieces on the bottom. Do a Yahoo image search for peace symbol and you will see many.

The first and only Peace Symbol was for Nuclear Disarmament. Many of us (Yes I am that old and I was there) wanted a symbol for tee shirts and flags when we protested the Nuclear Bomb race. One of the guys was an old Boy Scout and knew the semaphore alphabet. The two short and 45 degree down lines are a "N." The straight up and down line is a "D."

The symbol was a big success and quickly morphed into a peace symbol and since it wasn't copyrighted or trademark the peddlers and others started selling it on everything.

As usual, there will probably be some Christians who will say its the work of the Devil. I guess they've never been Boy Scouts. I don't know why they want to find evil in everything.

I would say that the first way is the correct way, with the vertical line going all the way from top to bottom. The reason for this is because the peace sign is not really a PEACE (as in God's peace) sign. It stands for satan, satan does everything opposite from God and the peace sign is the cross turned upside down and the horizontal line is broken and bent downward. If you love Christ you should have nothing to do with the peace sign.It is part of satan's deception.

Peace Symbol or Nero's Cross: A broken, upside-down cross. To Roman emperor Nero, who hated and persecuted the early Christians, it meant destruction of Christianity. Revived in the sixties by hippies and others who protested nuclear weapons, Western culture, and Christian values, it now symbolizes a utopian hope for a new age of global peace and earth-centered unity.

First one---ND for Nuclear Disarmament. Amazing how the "godly" spend so much time looking for the "unholy" in everything.
