Does anyone else feel that TV is heading down a dangerous road by creating a show like this? It might seem harmless to some, but could this be just the beginning? Maybe I'm paranoid, but I thought I'd just giving everyone something to think about.

I thought it was a decent show. The only kids who seem to get really upset are the little sissies, and that's to be expected. Most of the kids seem enthusiastic to be there...though they miss a lot of conveniences, of course.
That little sniveling brat girl on the town council needs to be replaced, but only because she won't do any of the work.

No, I don't think TV is headed down a dangerous road. If you think about it just a little.....of course there was adult supervision. From the BLOG ( http://www.kidnationblog.com ), it talks about medical doctors, paramedics, clergy, child psychologists, teachers, etc, etc there for the kids.

They didn't just drop 40 kids off in a ghost town with the adult host and a camera. Just think how many TV studio people would HAVE to be there to film this type of show.

Last I was informed, Kid Nation will not be returning due to concerns about the message and network image. Also, there were questions about unsafe conditions on the set.

its a TV SHOW.
It is written, directed, and edited. There is no such thing as reality TV. and in this ever-increasingly litigious society, no one can even blink without a lawyer present to make sure that is is OK.
That is why the TV has a power button. If you don't like it you are completely capable of turning it off.

I don't think it is dangerous to teach kids about responsibility and community.
Come on " Torture the Toddler " that's a little ridiculous.
Perhaps your paranoia is getting the better of you.
Maybe you should try actually WATCHING the show instead on just criticizing it you may learn something.

i thought the same thing at first too. but there is so much adult presence. like the stupid pioneer journal drives me nuts. i want to see them figure out stuff on their own. they wanted to make you think they crossed the line but it's really quite tame.

now torture the toddler, that's something i'd tune in for
j/k!

I don't like it. It creeps me out to see kids less than 10, even 9, to do things that makes them eventually break down. Its not right our world is becoming a distopia. I am definetley worried for the parents who agreed to let their children do the show. i think america needs to reform fast and or else it will lose its reputation as the best country in the world

The slippery slope argument is inherently flawed logic. Period.

I thought I'd just give you something to think about. ;-)

Flawed logic aside, ten bucks says you haven't even watched it or looked into it.
