it happens in the best of times and worse of times. that is history. why? because "monks" ask for more freedom -- and I assume economic freedom from hunger --since prices in Burma were raised significantly...that is a short answer. for the longer one you have to read, read and read more. hope it helps.

Simply because their cause is against the wishes of their totalitarian government. Burma has been an oppressed country for a long time. Buddhism is a peace loving religion and the military in control is taking advantage of the situation. Nonetheless, they (the military) may have stepped on their crank this time and may not know what to do to resolve the situation other than brutality.

For protesting against Burma's human rights abuses. The peaceful monks and other people are seeking democracy but as usual the brutal military regime is seeking to repress change. Its terrible.

Because they gave the greatest organizational and moral support to those who crave freedom. The are highly respected in their country and are trained to endure abuse if necessary.

They were hoping that the military ruling power would not risk inciting the anger of the public or that their abuse might galvanize the communities of the world to put pressure on the hostage taking aggressors that call themselves the "government" of "Myanmar".

Always call the people of this country Burmese as their countries name has been attempted to be changed by those who control material power. If you call their country Burma from now on it will continue to de-legitimize them which in turn hopefully will one day lead to the freedom of the people that reside their.

because the one who harassed them is non-believer. The only thing they know is how to maintain their absolute power over everything, religion or morality.
