I come from an abusive alcoholic family. I saw my brother shoot my Father when I was 10 y/o and spent many night hiding in junk yards, back alleys, etc .. in fear. The community I grew up in was a very small community and everyone knew what was going on yet no one did anything to intervene. From this, I learned that I could only depend on one person and that was myself. It made me determined to overcome the huge obstacles that were placed in front of me from birth and to become something that no one else thought I was capable of. I learned to appreciate what I had in life and not bemoan what I didn't have. I take each day as a gift and live it to the fullest. I am now happily married for 15 years. I have a college degree and a job that I absolutely love. I surround myself with very few friends, but they are ones that I know would be there for me through thick or thin.

You need to get it through your head the different meanings of evolution. Cosmic Evolution Eric Chaisson, Ph.D. As a Harvard trained astrophysicist who currently directs the Wright Center for Science Education at Tufts University, Eric Chaisson presented on evolutionary theory writ-large, aka cosmic evolution. Combining a spirited lecture with stunning visual presentations, Chaisson condensed the grand sweep of our cosmic heritage into a gripping 55-minute tour of the history of the entire universe from big bang to humankind. In Cosmic Evolution Chaisson addresses some of the most basic issues we can contemplate: the origin of matter and the origin of life, and the ways matter, life, and radiation interact and change with time. Guided by notions of beauty and symmetry, by the search for simplicity and elegance, by the ambition to explain the widest range of phenomena with the fewest possible principles, Chaisson designs for us an expansive yet intricate model depicting the origin and evolution of all material structures. And I'll define evolution as anything that opposes or denies the creation of God.
