I've heard the Christians rant about the world ending before 2000 or that Jesus was coming due to the whole New World Order bit and the 10000 points of light Bush Sr had going and that this was the call for the anti christ (maybe thats W Bush now that I think about it)
I hear that in 1969 Christians thought the world would end as Satan attempted to enter peoples cultures
I was in Germany in the 1980 when the cold war was still in action and we thought we'd all be nuked to death
I was around in 2000 for the Y2K bug too and the claims of all digital systems going off line including power and water. soon all would die
and the year after that (the TRUE turn of the century ) more death claims
now 2012 the Mayan calender ending and all prophecy of the END will result in the death of all people.
also an asteroid will pass in 2012 and this one worries me, but the odds are stated and look good we will survive,
but that asteroid will loop back in 2036 for a second murder attempt of the earth,
but I still think the odds look good again.
point is. Every one claims the world will end, and some day it will.
those who could make the right call should consider playing the lotto before they die.
I'm more likely to die on my own before I am one of those that see the end of the world.

I believe 2012 will come and go, just like any other year.
Remember, the Mayans didn't say the world would end in 2012 - their calendar ended in that year (remember, they created their calendar thousands of years ago).
Supposedly the "current world cycle" will end, but their definition of "world cycles" sound a lot like a cross between religion and the New Age mysticism of the 1970's.
Remember all the hype about Y2K (Yr. 2000) and how the world would end and all that? And what happened? Nothing (except some darn good parties).

No I do not believe the Earth will end on 2012. The year 2012 was just the end of a calender created by a ancient civilization called the Aztec. The sun is the source of life on Earth, and the sun has enough energy to burn for 5 million more years.
Now, If Jesus returns in the year 2012 that would only be coincidental. But I would be ready for the End of time in that case.

No, I don't think the world will end in 2012. But it could. Nobody knows when the world will end. how could we possibly have any idea as to when the world is going to end if we don't even have cures for lots of medical problems. Whose job would it be to find out when the world would end? Why would you spend the time you have alive worrying about the end when no matter what, the end will come eventually and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. When you're dead you're dead. Nothing matters except the present.

No...the Aztecs just stopped making their calendar because the Spanish invaded them. Thats the only date we have to go by. All the other evidence used to support this date is just random end of the world theories that could apply to any date. Revelation, for example, is used to support this, but it doesn't give any date. All this evidence proves is that people are afraid that the world will end. People have always been worried about that. And why not? Who's to say some psycopath won't launch 500 tons of hydrogen bombs at the sun causing an explosion that would engulf the Earth? It could happen. But no, the date totally inaccurate with no reasoning whatsoever.

I guess I haven't heard anything about 2012. What's suppose to happen? Actually, I think only God knows when the world will end. I think nuclear war may be the beginning of the end and looking at Iran now, that could be any day.

NO I Don't.
The world as we know it will end shortly after November of 2008 if Hillary Clinton gets elected President of the USA.
