Sure. Call AIRTRAN or go to their web site. They are having a $51 one way special nonstop between Boston and Philly. Just have his info (name address phone and email address) handy and pay with a credit card. They will email him an electronic ticket.

Sure. Anyone can buy a plane tickets!
A good thing to do is visit a place like wikipedia and type in the PHL (IATA code for Philadelphia Airport) or BOS (IATA code for Boston) and check out the airlines that service nonstop and visit their website. I believe US AIR has a nonstop and Jetblue might, but I think they service Pittsburgh.

If you find nonstop fares to be too much money visit a site like Priceline, Orbitz, or Expedia. They'll find the CHEAPEST flight on a particular airline. Be aware a cheaper flight maybe include stops. Once you've found one, book it through the AIRLINES OWN WEBSITE. Travel sites may claim cheaper fares but not really. Trust me, I do ALOT of traveling, I know these things.

Once you've found a reasonable fare that you can afford go ahead and BOOK IT! Its really simple.

And a few things to be aware of, flexible dates- Cheaper Fares and leaving On a Tuesday or Wednesday also gets cheaper fares.

GOOD LUCK!

Well sure as long as you put in his information. The ticket can be mailed to him or picked up at the airport. Or just send him the money and have him book the flight himself.
