Have you ever noticed how Presidents who preside over the nation during a time of war age a lot in office? In a very real sense, George W. Bush is giving his life for his country now, by undergoing the severe stress that war decisions bring. He knows that his popularity would soar if he didn't have the war to contend with. However, he takes his oath of office very seriously, and the most sacred duty of the Commander In Chief is to protect the nation against attack. By keeping the terrorists fighting on their own turf, they're too strapped for resources to mount another U.S. attack. A lot of them spend most of their time just trying to elude capture. They have no time for new schemes.

I believe he has put forth policies that he feels are best for the safety and security of this country and her people - irregardless of the political backlash and criticism or his legacy or the possible consequences to his party affiliation.

This is a patriot in the truest meaning of the word.

A one time he probably was. But doesn't a patriot care about his country?! What about our borders? If not securing them, does that not make him a patriot?

I can't answer that. I'm not American, and it would be disrespectful of me to be derogatory about the man you elected president. He was your choice, after all. Sort of.

I'm sure that George W. Bush loves America, and he loves God. I am also sure that he gives the impression that he loves himself more than either.
