I have a 97 Mercedes E420 and the air conditioning and heat both blow at the right temp, but with the same amount of pressure on low and high (very little pressure). With this little pressure the heat and air are pretty much useless unless you have your hands all over the vent. Anyone know what the problem could be and how labor intensive it will be to fix or what the cost would be. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Blower motor may be working on only the lower speeds. Have your blower resistor checked, and you might also have a high speed blower module on that car. Get that checked too. First, you may want to check the speed selector knob if it is the type that turns. Make sure it isn't stripped inside, by sliding it off and looking at it. If it isn't turning the speed selector, that could cause it too. If the knob is ok, have that other stuff checked. Good luck.

I,m a Ford/Chrysler mechanic and not familiar with Mercedes but it sounds like you may have a problem with your blower motor speed. Possibly a bad fan speed switch or a blower motor resister problem.

It sounds like something is wrong with your blower. But someone else said make sure your knob is actually turning is a good idea also. Good Luck I hope it doesn't get to pricey for you.
