Why was the Min/Det game called after the 6th due to rain yet the NY/Bal game earlier was finished weeks later

Question

The Yankees would have lost the game if it was called early. HHMMMM

The Yankees were losing going into the top of the next inning during which they took the lead. If it were to have been called a final the Yankees would have LOST!!!

The Orioles were winning 6-4 going into the top of the 8th. The Yankees scored 4 runs and the Orioles never got to bat in the bottom of the inning because the game was called.

It would have had an impact on the Tigers as they are/were chasing the Yankees.

The answer your looking for was they started the 8th with the yankees losing and the yankees took the lead so the home team gets a chance at bat which was why the game wasnt just called...once a game reaches its official point you cant undo what happend where as the Cleveland-Seattle snow out was 1 out short of a game they had to replay the game

I wonder if Minn was done playing in Det for the season? Still the standard rules seems to call the game that day/night. I wonder when the last time a weather game was offical (5innings) but was completed later?

The game WAS called early, with the Yankees a run ahead, but they re-scheduled for a later time. The Yankees would've won either way.

Because there is no impact on the playoffs and they are running out of season before they could reschedule. The game would be finished if there were playoff impact.
