I don't see why you would have to shave your beard. If it is being asked out of respect for your grandfather or if your family does it then you would have to. The best thing to do is ask your family and see what they want done. It's not really a big deal though. If you shave your beard it will always grow back. That's why men shave if they don't want beards or mustaches.

If this is being asked out of respect for your Grandfather, Yes. It will always be there to grow back, shave, grow back, and shave again throughout your life. The wake in a one time event.

Of course you should. dont be disrespectful toward those who have passed on. even though its his wake, you still should look your best. How would you feel if when you died people showed up looking scruffy?
