Most Tetras will only school with their own species. You can tell your fish are mature enough to spawn when the females start getting rounder and the males start flaunting their colors. What size is your tank? That will dictate what kind of fish you can get. If you have a 20 gallon, you should look into a Dwarf Gourami as well as a school of Phantom Tetras (5-7). The Phantoms and Pristella are quite similar, so if you want something that will nicely contrast your current Tetras, think about Lemon or Silver Tipped Tetras. They are colorful and display nice schooling behavior. Possibly a better option would be a school of Danios. Your tank is stocked in the mid level, and a Dwarf Gourami would color up the bottom level, leaving the surface open. Danios are active surface dwellers that stay small and have nice patterns (zebra, leopard, and even Danios that glow!). I would avoid Giant Danios in a tank less than 30 gallons as they are strong, active swimmers.
