I a a little old lady who debends on the state of Michigan for my medical needs. to say that this state takes from say, the Police department or roads and puts it in welfare is so totally wrong. Not that I am on welfare, but do to a medical problem , I lost all health care and relyed on the state for help . Now , and before this crisis, I no longer have badly needed eye care, dental care my Rx's cost 10X's more forcing me to pay either my monthly bills i.e. electric or my medicine. It just makes me so mad that people who have thankfully never been in this situation, imediately think we are all lazy bums living off the state. I use to be one too. As far as I am concerned ,Granholm is literally killing me. and in addition , what about her speech that said , and I quote, "... and in the fifth year, you'll be blown away" I sure will be ( ashes to ashes) Thanks!

Good Lord! I don't live in Michigan anymore. But I spoke with the people I still have there. They are telling me she is doing this because her idea of fixing things is way off track. So she is holding the state hostage until she gets what she wants. I would think this is illegal somehow. I am surprised the citizens of Michigan aren't in the streets protesting. Please don't riot. This unbelievable and I'm sorry. I grew up there but left when Chrysler went under and Mr Iaccoa was heading things. I hope you get thru this.

This entire issue is obviously Ganholm's fault. She has done everything possible to make this state unattractive to business, and it is business and their employees that pay taxes without draining public money. Her tax increase on working people shows the contempt with which she holds the people of Michigan. She has shown no leadership whatsoever; she is holding the state hostage to force her tax increases. We truly are being "blown away"!!

The governments answer is to raise taxes again. We have the 2nd highest paid representatives in this country and they could not balance the budget in 8 months. The rest of us are having trouble finding jobs, keeping our houses and putting food on the table. Time to vote in some new representatives and a new governor.

Umm... Yeah, its granholms fault...
Just like the democrats in congress that now control it, haven't done anything and its their fault President Bush keeps vetoing everything, and ALL republicans are sticking to their party line rather than doing whats best for america and making any kind of compromise... yes.. democrats fault...
Just like every time Granholm comes up with anything, ALL republicans are against it... The things we are all missing here, is the state of michigan was pushed into a hole the size of the grand canyon by Engler, and it will take a team effort to get michigan back on track. However, With republicans and democrats constantly at odds with eachother, and republicans not willing to do any compromising anymore, nothing is getting done. The country is crumbling because of the parties not working together, and so is michigan. Don't blame granholm, she inherited a hell of a mess, the same as the next president will.

it sucks!,ever since she took office our state has been going downhill.this is an unexcusable mess no matter how you slice it.her job as Governer should be to prevent stuff like this from happening, not to provoke it.there is too much pigheadedness on her part ,she has rejected every proposal that was put in front of her.how much more do we cut schools, state police, fire protection, and such, only to put the money back into the welfare system?,and then raise our taxes again!,I am tired of getting bent over by high taxes ,high gas prices, business's leaving, people leaving,we are 1st in unemployment, and peoplle leaving.

I just hope that with all the education cuts we'll have someone left that's smarter than her to run the state in the future... if it lasts that long.

Glad I moved out.
She is pretty horrible but unless you have been to Michigan you don't realize that nobody gets along with anyone there. If they don't agree they don't work together.
