I'd love to think that's true!

I have always believed it is true....you have to give before you get....giving your time.....giving help.....giving your support..... giving your love.....giving aid.....giving your assistance.....
giving that helping hand whenever your can..... to your family, friends...coworkers.....neighbors....and even strangers... helping someone who is injured..or who has a flat tire....or who needs a meal...or someone who just needs a hug and some support.....there are so many ways to help others....doing it through random acts of kindness or through active community service...In giving to others, you will find yourself blessed......especially with happiness and that really good, warm feeling you will have inside your soul......at least, that is what I think.......=)

I'm wondering if this in appropriate place to share a quote I picked up from a Tom Lehrer CD a few years ago: "Life is like a sewer. What you get out of it depends on what you put into it."

I'd love to think you only get what you give, too - I am not sure that life is always like that, though.

No it's not true - Unfortunatley life does not work like that all the time - i wish it did of course only if what your giving out is good then for sure you know you will get something good back.!!!

"one of life's unknowables"

It's very tempting to believe this, but I could make a case either way

scene 1:
a child is born into a life of poverty and disease .... and loses a lung-capacity in one lung 2 weeks later

scene 2:
a child is born into a warm, loving home with caring parents and healthy genetic lineage ... and 2 weeks later is diagnosed with possession of an outgoing, confident positive personality

which one of these has "given"?

which one has "received"?

take it out 25 years

where we start, where we finish, what is in our baggage when we get there

which of these two is loved and admired by more people?

which of these two is ignored or treated as insignifigant?

/*********************/

this being said, sometiems people overcome their originations and "it works" for them

why? or how?
I don't know

the notion of "freedom of choice" has the potential for existing in the category of "illusion"

"The Rose"

I'd be in a lot of trouble if this were true.

that is something i want to believe as a guide to living well and harmonious with others. it could be true or not but if it changes you to be a better person, then live by it!

Sorry sweetie, in my experience you get less then what you give! If you give, people begin to grow accustom to taking and the neglect to give back.
