i am outraged (lol)
but seriously
i read : "Jesse Jackson reportedly ripped presidential candidate Barack Obama for "acting like he's white," according to The State newspaper in South Carolina, but the civil rights leader says he doesn't recall making any such comment.
Jackson, who endorsed Obama for president in March, reportedly blasted the Illinois senator for failing to bring attention to the case of six black kids arrested on attempted murder charges in Jena, La."
i find this very rude and uncalled for...
how can some act black or white?
i thought we were one race the human race!!
btw.....to white people and other races
not all blacks feel that al sharpton and jesse jackson are their "leaders"
i have my on opinions

What some human beings fail to understand is that not ALL blacks believe Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton in all that they do. i individually stopped paying too a lot interest to Sharpton and Jackson an prolonged time in the past because of the fact: I basically don't sense that we as blacks desire 'spokes-persons'. And with the aid of that I recommend that once specific human beings make racial comments (Imus, Richards, O'reilly, Bounty Hunter, etc) they sense that each and every physique they could desire to do is incredibly kiss some Jackson/Sharpton a** and all is nicely with the full African-American community. So i'm definitely not on the Jackson/Sharpton squad. And specific, I agree that his contemporary comments attacking Obama, reeks of organic jealousy; it is totally almost disgusting.

Well, first of all, The State isn't known around these parts for being very accurate or reliable with a quote,so.......
I agree we are all one race, but in the deep south it is still VERY common for white and black people to be hostile....not usually openly, but covertly.
It sucks that we have our first viable black candidate for president and many southern black people find him too 'white.' The implyied assumption is that he needs to be less educated or less ambitious or less something so that he can appear more 'black.'
I believe Colin Powell also ran into this issue.
I don't know why it is, but it is far past time for the south to move into the 21st century.
BTW, on an unrelated note...That girl who stripped for the NC Lacrosse team and then claimed rape. She was, reportedly, to receive a full scholarship purchased by Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton ( I forget which). Whatever happened to that after she was found to be lying? I think JJ and AS are trying to help in their own celebrity-seeking way, but it does make for a specticle when either show up and state their opinions. In some ways, I am glad that they are there or we wouldn't know about Michael Bell or the Jena 6. I think many in the north think that that racism is a thing of the past and it is good to shine a light on the problems we still face!!

I agree that I do not consider Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson my leaders. And there is no such thing as acting "black" or acting "white" and isn't Obama bi-racial anyway? That is a very ignorant statement made on his behalf if that is in fact what he said.

First off why would you say you're outraged and then laugh about it o_O weird...
Anyway I think that Obama is half white so what is wrong with him acting white sometimes....geeze give the man a break.
Personally I could care less for Obama or Jackson. Neither represent me anyway, and AIN'T NO WAY AMERICA is gonna let a BLACK MAN BE PRESIDENT, AMERICA IS TOO RACIST. Have you seen the movie "head of state"
We need men like the past, ex. Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King, Marcus Garvey, WEB Dubois.... what happened to people like them, NOW THEY WERE LEADERS.

He's always been a self absorbed wanker.
He will act when it suits him. Why does he carry on about race when he brokered a deal to release those captured guys in Serbia more than ten years back.

Ok... but why do white people that that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are our African American leaders... We are not aliens it is not like they are leaders of our tribe or planet. So treat us like humans and stop picking leaders for us.

Done and "dumber" so many times before on this forum.
Don't you have any new material than bashing Black men who would be there for you before any bigoted white male would? It's so embarrassing because they, Al and Jesse are not perfect but what are you doing to help Black people? Just what the hell have you done?
Dumb and dumber on this forum. Already posted. Before you post do a search. You will find most times, esp. with redudant retarded posts like yours, that the same mess has been posted and answered too many damn times already.
Embarrassing. Are you sure you're Black?? I hardly "STINK" so.
Blah; just Blah...

I feel that people are overreacting. If anyone other than Jesse or Al had said this no one would care.

Glad that you have your opinions, and are able to exercise your right to express them. As for Jesse and "Fat Al", they are just stirring the pot, and hindering good race relations, for their own good.
