My opinion are old honda's four's, the 350, 400, 500,and 750,,
Also the Old 350cc and 450cc twins. other people might have diffrent ideas.

Honda $3199, Kawasaki $3499, Suzuki $3249. All are capable of zero to 60 time in under 6 seconds, and quarter mile under 15 seconds and their gas mileage is around 70mpg, when driven prudently. All are 250 cc motorcycles. So look for others in the 250cc class or for the others in the next class up, I wouldn't want to leave you with money in your pocket.

Honda's and Kawasaki's are right about bullet proof. Suzuki has a somewhat weak transmission in comparison to those two and more problems in general but is still a GREAT bike. Yamaha's tend to be built cheaply and fall apart quickly by comparison but even they aren't bad when compared to brands like Harley-Davidson and Hyosung(Hyosung has better reliability than Harley surprisingly). In the end you really can't go too wrong with any Japanese brand or most european brands.

I've had good luck with every Jap bike I've owned in the last twenty years. The Honda 1100 Shadow series has been very good to me and my friends, especially the 1998 and after models (better cam.)

i would have to say the honda or kawasaki. but that's just a personal opinion. i truly think each bike has it's pros and cons. and if u don't keep it clean (mechanical work, change worn out parts etc..) any bike from any class will turn to sh*t.
