You are dealing with people working in a beauracracy - any beauracracy sucks to deal with on a personal level. Whether it's a large company or a government.

It sucks but honestly - if you try to deal with the beauracy of a country like Germany... OMG! Everyone literally has a rubber stamp on their desk and charges you to stamp whatever piece of paper you need to get something done as you go from beaurocrat to beaurocrat.

Oh and a country like Mexico! Wow, it's amazing ANYTHING gets done there if you don't have bribe money to speed things along.

Yeah it sucks in the US - but at least it's not EXPENSIVE and SUCKY.

for starters, the government doesn't care about you and sees you as nothing but a little tax revenue provider. second, the government is inefficient at nearly everything it does, so it should come as no surprise that you can't get a satisfactory answer.

Be sure to write your questions down, have pen/pencil and paper in front of you and have all your documentation in front of you...very important. Don't make them wait while you run and find a birth certificate or something.

because most government agencies hire foreign born U.S. citizens, with outrageous accents, to "daze & confuse" you until you just give up.
That way, they can claim that they actually tried to help you...

Because they're all freaking democrats, lazy, ignorant people who enjoy annoying those that lead a real life, and pay their own health insurance.
