Nearly every fortune I've read from a fortune cookie has come true. However, there's no magic or divining involved. It's all about the power of suggestion. If I open a fortune cookie and it says, "You are going to have a rotten day." then things that normally wouldn't bother me are going to really get me down to the point that I truly do have a bad day. It's not because the fortune was warning me of anything, it's because I got it into my head that I was going to have a bad day and made it happen, all on my own. Incidentally, I also found a fortune in a cookie that changed my life. It said, "Not to worry! You will always have everything you need." I found that comforting, so I had it laminated and taped it to my bedroom mirror. Now, an entire decade later, I have always had everything I've needed. Even when times were hard, I just remembered what the fortune said and things have always fallen into place for me. They would have anyway, but because I was thinking positively, I helped it happen.

Before my husband and I started dating, we went out for chinese with a bunch of friends. While he was talking to me I opened my cookie. The fortune read: "Stop searching forever. Happiness is right in front of you."
I still have that fortune somewhere.

I booked a vacation to Vegas earlier this week, and Thursday, I got a fortune saying a vacation awaits you.
Yours sounds very prophetic, like something out of a movie. :)

Yeah.. I had one that said "Someone from your past will come back to steal your heart away." Sadly, it was true. =( He broke my heart too.
