Typical Cats - they're from Chicago, and a recent "underground" website placed their self-titled debut album as being the second greatest Hip-Hop album to ever be released from Chicago, right behind Common's "Resurrection." These guys bring you ferocious lyrics with unparalled beats. I'm trying my best to get these giys the recognition they deserve, so you have to listen to them.

Talib Kweli - Any Hip-Hop head, in fact, any real emcee out today shows respect for Talib's skills and recognizes him as unarguably one of the, if not the, best artist out today. Pick up the classic colaboration album with Mos Def "Blackstar," and then go on to "Reflection Eternal," then "Quality," followed by his recent release "Ear Drum."

Immortal Technique - A very political dude, but the man has skills. Listengin to him will really make you question the world around you. "Revolutionary Vol. 1" is the album to start with, considering it's only gonna leave you to immediately get "Vol. 2"

Jurassic 5 - It makes you sad when you hear their first three albums and then to find out that they are breaking up...these guys are ridiculous. The jazz influenced beats are amazing, and their lyrics are fierce. Start off by listening to the album "Quality Control."

Jedi Mind Tricks - Their classic album "Violent By Design" has been called the underground "Illmatic"...and rightly so.
